The Mediterranean is famous for its beautiful landscapes and people, it also has a reputation for its deep and rich culture of sublime food.
Vibrant with colour, flavour and nutrition, countless generations of Mediterranean locals have put fresh, locally sourced, seasonal and very real foods at the top of their handwritten shopping lists. This culture of food isn’t about convenience, it’s far more important than that, the passion Mediterranean people have for food is underpinned by flavour, health, community and enjoyment.
Our childhood memories are as vivid as the Mediterranean culture itself. Every week we’d walk in the dirt of our local farmers market, hand in hand with our mothers and grandmothers, we’d observe nuts, grains, fruits, vegetables and oils, and we listen to conversations between the shopkeepers and our mothers, we were quietly and passionately falling in love with our culture, our people, and the produce they sold or grew.

As our own personal stories unfolded, we went in search of everything else the world has to offer. We travelled all through the Mediterranean, venturing beyond our beloved home towns, and then we journeyed further and further, eventually settling in the place we now respectfully call home, Australia.
What we brought with us is a Mediterranean culture of food that is organically woven into our DNA. Our vast distance from the local farmers market didn’t create distance from what we are deeply passionate about, we found ourselves yearning for the richness of our food heritage, so in 2019, Tierra Bulk Foods was born.
Our intention was to share what we were raised on with our new friends in Australia, to show them what has enabled our families to thrive for thousands of years in a culture of community and cuisine, and from that single moment onwards, we poured our passion into our work.
Our unique brand of true Mediterranean ingredients is summarised simply, to us, and to our tens of thousands of customers, Tierra Bulk Foods is Food with Soul.
